Latest Toshiba Regza AT300 tablet unleashed, comes with 3D display

The tablet with Tegra destined for the Japanese market has some amazing features. Toshiba presented the Android 3.0 tablet recently, Regza AT300, which features specs that will surely give the other Honeycomb tablets a headaches.


The powerful device, which launched in June in Japan, benefits from two dual-core Tegra processor which runs at 1GHz, on board is 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory. The 10.1-inch LED screen supports a resolution up to 1280 x 900 and comes with an adaptive display that promises better performance under direct sunlight. The tablet has a 5 megapixel camera in its rear and a 2 megapixel camera on the front, no doubt its not short of entertainment connectivities such as an HDMI output port, USB, mini USB and SD card compatibility. Toshiba claims to offer a battery life of up to 7 hours per charge. The Regza AT300 also comes with an accelerometer, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

According to a Japanese press release, it will first arrive the local market then shortly in the United States and Europe. The Regza AT300 will be one top-notch device available at 60,000 Yen which is equvalent to about $723 or £443.

Hopefully it will turn out to be a success unlike its predecessor, the Toshiba Folio 100.

Google Translate app for Android updated

Google has released an update to their Google Translate app for Android OS, if you already have Google Translate, you'll know how useful it can be in translating sentences, but it also provides text-to-speech capabilities in various languages. You can simply type in a phrase and let the app translate it and speak it, with this update, Google Translate can now support Japanese, Arabic, and Korean.

Google Translate app can now speak about 24 languages such as Russian, Chinese, and Portuguese, and since this feature is so popular, the quality of the feature has been dramatically improved in 15 languages so they can sound more natural.

With this update Google Translate app can now translate between 58 different languages and it can speak 24 languages, so if you want to try this app, you can download if from the Android Market. As for requirements, you'll need at least Android 2.1 or later.

Microsoft Office 365 now available for public testing

Google Docs might be a great set of office tools, but Microsoft is preparing its own cloud office solution called Microsoft Office 365. As you might know, Microsoft Office 365 has been in limited beta for some time, and now it is finally available for public testing.

Unlike Google Docs, Office 365 isn't intended for personal users, instead, Office 365 is designed for corporations and business. Office 365 allows you to access it from your PC or smartphone via any web browser, and if you have a Windows Phone 7, you'll be able to sync and update from the phone itself.

Office 365 includes Microsoft Office, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online, as well as Office 365 Marketplace which contains a variety of apps that you can use to customize your Office 365. Currently, the marketplace holds 100 apps and 400 professional services.

Microsoft Office 365 is in limited beta and it's free to use, but when the service goes live later this year, it will require a $6 monthly fee. If you're interested in finding out more, check out the Microsoft link below.

Latest MSI X-Slim X370 laptop with AMD Fusion

MSI have released their latest notebook to run on an AMD Brazos platform for the X-Slim series – MSI X-Slim X370 series. It has a sleek, pleasant, with smooth curves. As its name suggests, it is a lappie on a diet at just – 2.3 cm thick and weighs only about 1.4 kg.


The MSI X-Slim X370 is equipped with a dual-core AMD E-350 1.6GHz processor, 13.4-inch display with LED-backlit 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics card with support for DirectX 11, 4GB RAM and options offer hard drive capacities of up to 640GB.

In terms of connectivity, the MSI X-Slim X370 comes equipped with a 1.3 megapixel webcam, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, Card Reader SD / MMC, an output HDMI and two USB 2.0 ports. The X370 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium or Basic. The system is maintained by a 4 or 8 cell battery which has been claimed to last up to 10 hours.

MSI X-Slim X370 can be bought from Amazon at a price of $579.99, which is not bad at all considering MSI normally has a good track record for build quality.

BlackBerry PlayBook tablet now available

Fans of RIM, makers of BlackBerry smartphones cult, now have the chance to seize the company's first tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook. We first spoke of the PlayBook tablet last Sept when it was unveiled, but now its finally available, at prices starting from $500.


The base model comes with 16GB capacity but for those who would prefer to have more storage space, you can check out the 32GB version for $600 and around $700 for the top model with 64GB memory.

The tablet has an obvious business look and offers a dual core processor at 1GHz and 1 GB of RAM which makes the PlayBook more than capable of multitasking. Other specs include GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n. The Playbook has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600, running a proprietary operating system based on QNX technology, and of course as you may already have heard, there is support for Adobe Flash and AIR 10.1. Lastly, the PlayBook boasts two powerful cameras ideal for videoconferencing – one with 5 megapixel and one with 3 megapixel.
