Facebook phone – INQ Cloud Touch on sale now

Posted: 11 Apr 2011 06:16 AM PDT

The much pronounced Facebook Phone form INQ, INQ Cloud Touch, is finally released and is now available for $489. This cool facebook Phone was rumored back in February 2011 and is now finally launched.

As the name suggests, it is basically a smartphone made for Facebook lovers. It has lots of exciting features relating to Facebook. The INQ Cloud Touch runs on Android 2.2, packs a 3.5-inch 480×320 display, an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, a five MP camera, FM radio, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.

The homescreen shows all of Facebook's newsfeeds from your profile. It also lets you access many other Facebook features like Facebook Chat, Places, Facebook Messages, Notifications, etc. All this can be easily accessed with a tap. You can also sync your Facebook events with Google Calendar, which is pretty neat.

After HTC released its ChaCha and Salsa Facebook phones (not very successfully), INQ Cloud Touch is the second pure Facebook phone to arrive the market. We'll keep a close eye and see what sort of ratings it'll receive.

Premium channels coming to YouTube?

Posted: 11 Apr 2011 06:12 AM PDT

Google has been planning a way to monetize YouTube for a while, it seems like that next step is going to put that plan in motion soon – we might see premium channels on YouTube.

According to the sources, Google is planning to create about 20 premium channels that will have five to ten hours of original programming. It seems that Google is quite serious about this one, since it is planning to invest $100 million for this original content.

Although it appears that Google is quite determined in its intention, we still don't know when we'll see this improvement and how much will these premium channels cost, nor what kind of content will be available to viewer. We can't shake the feeling that Google is trying to compete with Netflix, but with 20 premium channels we doubt that YouTube will make much impact on Netflix's users.

YouTube might become a TV network someday, we're looking forward to see premium channels and content, but we doubt many YouTube users will pay for it – hence Google's struggle to make YouTube profitable looks to continue.

Google censors autocomplete results in Italy

Posted: 11 Apr 2011 03:37 AM PDT

After Google's problems with China, the search engine giant is once again having problems but this time with another country – Italy.

Autocomplete feature has proven to be quite useful over the years, but it seems that some people don't agree. For example, it seems that the Italian government is having issues with this feature, therefore they have requested from Google to filer certain search results.

It appears that Italian government doesn't welcome certain suggestions that appear while searching for a specific public figure. Some of those suggestions include words such as fraud and similar, the Italian government requested the removal of those suggestions from autocomplete feature.

At first, Google refused to do this, saying that these suggestions are generated by an algorithm, but eventually, Google had to remove those suggestions from autocomplete since it lost its case against the Italian government.

We're not positive that this type of censorship is a good thing, and we have to ask ourselves, will Google be censored even more in the future?

Stepto's account gets hacked on Xbox Live

Posted: 11 Apr 2011 12:29 AM PDT

If you thought that Sony is the only company thats having problems with hackers, guess again. It seems that Microsoft and Xbox Live have similar problem as well.

Hackers over the world are getting tired from constant banning, so they have chosen to take action, or at least one of them. A hacker that goes by the name of The Predator apparently had enough harassment from Xbox Live personnel, after being banned 35 times, The Predator decided to have revenge on the person that got him banned in the first place, and so the user – Stephen "Stepto" Toulouse became the victim.

For those of you who don't know, Stephen "Stepto" Toulouse is Director of Policy ad Enforcement for Xbox Live and he's in charge of banning hackers. After he banned The Predator 35 times, The Predator decided it's time for revenge so he hacked Stepto's account so he could teach him a lesson. Of course, this incident has been taken care of and Stepto got his account back in no time.

If a person such as Stepto can get his account hacked, how safe are our accounts on Xbox Live?
